On May 18, 2025—the 5th Sunday of Easter—we hear Jesus’ timeless command: “Love one another.” This simple yet profound invitation calls us to embody Divine love in every moment of our lives.

We see this love vividly reflected in the life of St. Felix of Cantalice, whose feast we celebrate today. As a beloved Capuchin saint, St. Felix lived out Christ’s love through humility, service, and unwavering faith. His example not only inspired countless souls but also helped sustain the Capuchin Order through difficult times. In honor of his holiness, the Capuchins in the Philippines have dedicated our novitiate under his patronage—a living testament to his enduring legacy.

This year, our community joyfully marked the profession anniversaries of many brothers—a powerful sign of their steadfast commitment to the Capuchin way of life. Adding to this celebration, Br. Edgar Martinez, OFMCap, warmly welcomed two postulants into the novitiate: Br. Ignasius Rambaliku and Br. Samuel Kagl Kawagle, both from Papua New Guinea. We pray earnestly for these young men as they begin their formation journey, trusting God will inspire more vocations to serve His Church through our community.

As we reflect on St. Felix’s inspiring legacy and the fresh beginnings of our novices, let us renew our own commitment to love and service—living the Gospel with passion and purpose.

St. Felix and our Capuchin brothers remind us that love is not merely a feeling but a call to action. In a world longing for genuine connection and meaning, answering this call can transform our lives and communities.
