On February 14, 2025, the Capuchin Province of Our Lady of Lourdes marked its provincial feast with a solemn celebration at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes. Rev. Fr. Dominic Lim, OFMConv., presided over the Holy Mass, drawing attention to Mary’s pivotal role in Christian faith.
In his homily, Fr. Lim highlighted how Mary’s declaration as “the Immaculate Conception” during her apparition at Lourdes underscores her mission and emphasizes devotion to her Immaculate Heart as a path to spiritual renewal within the Church. He noted that while God did not need human intermediaries for salvation, His divine plan included Mary’s intercession as part of humanity’s journey towards unity with Christ.
Fr. Lim encouraged attendees to reflect on Mary’s heart and become children under her guidance during this feast day celebration. The honor bestowed upon Mary for being immaculately conceived is seen not as a barrier but rather as an invitation for believers to participate in Christ’s union with His Church.
This significant event brought together the brothers of the province to commemorate their patron.
