On August 26, 2025, the Capuchin fraternity gathered at Our Lady of Lourdes Seminary for a celebration overflowing with gratitude, joy, and fraternal love. The day began with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Edgar Martinez, OFMCap., Provincial Minister, who offered a heartfelt reflection on the Gospel. He spoke not only of the call to be ready to go wherever the Lord sends but also of the beauty of welcoming new vocations and cherishing the gift of fraternal life. Mission, he reminded everyone, is lived out not only in distant places but also in the daily commitment to nurture vocations and celebrate the lives of those who walk beside us in fraternity.

The celebration was made even more meaningful by the formal acceptance of ten young men into the postulancy, marking the beginning of a deeper journey in the Capuchin way of life. Their “Yes” to formation was a moving sign of hope and renewal for the fraternity. The spirit of mission was further highlighted with the send-off of Br. Garry Andres, Fr. Rex Cutamora, and Fr. Jasper Española, who will serve in Kuwait, UAE, and Guam respectively. Their departure echoed the Capuchin commitment to bring the Gospel wherever the Church is in need, trusting fully in God’s providence.

Amid these vocational milestones, the fraternity also rejoiced in celebrating the birthday of Br. Baltazar Benito, a moment of gratitude for his life, dedication, and fraternal spirit that continues to inspire. The gathering was graced by the presence of brothers from various fraternities, along with friends and benefactors, whose support and prayers made the day even more special.

As the celebration drew to a close, Fr. Egay’s words remained engraved in the hearts of all present. Truly, it was a day of mission, new beginnings, and thanksgiving, a reminder to always live with openness, joy, and gratitude for the call we have received. Pax et Bonum.
