Just before the celebration concluded, Br. Rolando expressed his gratitude to those who took part in the celebration and assisted him in preparing for this day. He also thanked his family who, though difficult because of restrictions, were able to be present on this special day. A special revelation came when he shared that this day was also the birthday of his mother. In lieu of the traditional kissing of the hands which were dispensed with because of health protocols, Br. Rolando, after the final blessing of the bishop, imparted his first blessing to all present.
As he begins his new life as a Capuchin brother priest, Br. Rolando is called to be a minister and an instrument of God’s love and mercy to many who are suffering and desolate in these trying times. The presbyteral ordination of Br. Rolando is truly a great gift for both the Province and the Church and through the intercession of Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, may Br. Rolando’s priestly ministry be a truly meaningful and fruitful one.
