On February 25, 2025, the Bahay Capuchino community came together to celebrate Mrs. Nancy De Guzman, affectionately known as Ate Nancy, for her remarkable 35 years of service to the Provincial Information Office. As she marks her 60th birthday on February 26, that implies her pause from office work.

Ate Nancy’s dedication has been a great help for the Philippine Capuchin Province. Guided by Fr. Troy in her early years, she developed a strong sense of humility and openness to learn new things, further enriched by interactions with various Capuchin brothers.

During the Eucharistic celebration at Bahay Capuchino, Fr. Edgar Martinez, OFMCap., emphasized the Gospel’s message of humility as a path to greatness, saying, “To go up is to go down.” This resonates with Ate Nancy’s life of service, which has profoundly impacted the Capuchins in the Philippines. Fr. Edgar expressed gratitude on behalf of his predecessors for her unwavering support to the brothers.

The celebration served as a heartfelt thanksgiving for Ate Nancy’s contributions. Her dedication offers valuable lessons in humility and service, reminding us of the impact one person can have on their work place.
