On Saturday, November 9, 2024, a Healing Mass was held at Ina ng Laging Saklolo Parish along Tagaytay-Calamba Road in Sungay West, Tagaytay City, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Kay Lourdes ang Sabado ni Fr. William Bustamante,OFMCap. The Mass was presided over by Most Rev. Reynaldo Evangelista, DD, Bishop of Imus, who emphasized the importance of devotion to the Virgin Mary as a channel for divine blessings.
In his homily, Bishop Evangelista stated, “Our devotion on this Saturday for the Blessed Virgin of Lourdes is vital for receiving the graces we need. While all blessings come from God, He often uses instruments like the Virgin Mary and Fr. William to bring these blessings to us.” He encouraged attendees to recognize their potential as instruments of God’s grace, urging them to foster compassion and support within their community. He continued with these words, “each one of us can also be used by God to share His blessings. […] Let us continue to care for one another, to love each other, to help one another, and to deepen our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes. But above all, let us always prioritize God. Let us always remember that the Blessed Virgin Mary wants to bring us closer to her Son, Jesus. To Jesus through Mary. Ad Jesum per Mariam […] Let us truly believe in God and let Him be the center of our lives. Let us always follow His will. Let us submit to God every day of our lives. May God bless us now and forever.”
The Healing Mass not only marked a significant milestone in Fr. Bustamante’s ministry but also served as a reminder of the Church’s commitment to healing and spiritual nourishment through the sacraments. The event drew a large congregation, reflecting the strong community ties and shared faith among devotees. This anniversary celebration highlights the ongoing mission of healing within the Church, aligning with her role in providing spiritual and physical healing to those in need.
